Madison Twa

Madison works with clients on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Madison is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She works with children, teens, adults, and families to support emotional, behavioural, and anxiety-related concerns using evidence-based, structured, and developmentally appropriate approaches. Madison has a particular specialization in play therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).

Madison completed her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. Her clinical work is grounded in CBT, with a strong focus on helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours while building practical coping and problem-solving skills. She is also receiving supervision and advanced training in exposure and response prevention (ERP) for anxiety- and OCD-related concerns.

Play therapy is a central component of Madison’s work with children. She uses developmentally responsive, structured play-based interventions to support emotional expression, regulation, social skill development, and behavioural change. Through modalities such as directive and CBT-informed play therapy, children are supported in learning skills in ways that feel safe, engaging, and meaningful.

With teens, her approach is collaborative and structured, fostering insight, emotional regulation, and confidence in managing anxiety and difficult emotions. In her work with adults, Madison applies CBT and ERP strategies to address anxiety, OCD, trauma-related concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and life stressors, supporting clients in developing effective tools for sustainable change.

Her work is informed by attachment-based principles, emphasizing safety, consistency, and strong therapeutic relationships. Madison has experience supporting neurodivergent children, teens, and adults, including those navigating ADHD and autism, and adjusts interventions to align with individual learning styles, sensory needs, and emotional regulation capacities. She also works with oppositional or challenging behaviours using a strengths-based and individualized approach.

In her work with caregivers and families, Madison emphasizes psychoeducation and practical strategies that extend beyond sessions. She collaborates closely with caregivers to support skill generalization, strengthen family relationships, and foster consistent, supportive responses at home.

Above all, Madison strives to provide a warm, structured, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients of all ages feel supported in building skills, confidence, and resilience.
